A brief profile of the Advisor.
A poor student (born on 9th January, 1955), with the help of generous well wishers, has completed his schooling from one of the islands of Sundarban Delta (I Plot) and ranked 9th position in the local Board Exam (School Final, 1972) and admitted in the Ramakrishna Mission Calcutta Students' Home, Belghoria (1972-78) to complete Pre-University & B.Sc. (Hon.) from Calcutta University. He then continued to push his career through private tuition, crossing B.Tech., M.Tech. (Elec.) from Dept. of Applied Physics, Calcutta University in 1982 and had gone for Management Education from various management instutions in India.
In service life, he joined in an Indo-German firm (NGEF, 1982-87); switched over to Mega Power utility (NTPC, HQ, 1987-94) and presently working in a Central PSU in technical service area. During this time (1994), a group was formed with some professionals in NTPC, PGCL, IOCL, IREDA, EIL, etc. to contribute micro donation for a social cause similar to Ramakrishna Mission for achieving integrated social development. To fill up the need and action, this group is augmenting a number of innovative projects in such a difficult terrain in Sundarban Delta. The experience and dedication of the working professionals are the backbone of this organization. He visited China in 1995 and was impressed by the social development process by the peoples' direct participation approach.
